📦 How to Use the Package Video Recording Feature (Packing & Unboxing)
To use the video recording feature for order packing and returns/unboxing, you will need:
✅ Required Equipment:
- A computer (PC or laptop)
- Internet connection – your phone and computer must be on the same Wi-Fi network
- A smartphone (iPhone or Android – older/used phones are perfectly fine and affordable. Recommended for use as the camera)
- Optional: A webcam (Not required if you’re using a phone as the camera)
🔧 Step-by-Step Setup:
Step 1: Download the free Ship Xanh packaging video recording software
Install the software on your computer.
Step 2: Connect your camera
Go to the “Camera List” menu and click “+ Add Camera”.
You will be guided through the process to connect either:
- A webcam, or
- A home security camera, or
- A smartphone (used as a wireless camera)
Once successfully connected, activate the cameras you want to use.
Each camera can be assigned to a packing station or employee.
Step 3: Start using “Package Camera” mode
Go to the “Packing Camera” menu to begin.
Video recording and stopping is fully automated via:
- QR code detection on the shipping label
- Barcode scanners
- Manual entry
- Or by simply clicking a button

⚡ Fastest Way to Pack Orders
Ship Xanh supports barcode scanners to speed up QR code detection.
Scanners send the QR code to your computer in one of two modes:
1. Keyboard Mode
Acts like someone typing on your keyboard.
You’ll see the QR code content appear in the input field.
⚠️ Important: The app window must stay open and the input field must stay active
2. COM Serial Mode (⚡ Recommended)
Transmits QR code content directly to the PC via a COM serial port.
Ship Xanh reads the data directly from this port.
✅ Benefits:
- No need to keep the input field active
- One computer can support multiple workers, each with their own barcode scanner
- You can minimize the software window and it still works – unlike in Keyboard Mode
